Peec AI review: what it does well and who it's for
Peec AI calls itself "AI search analytics for marketing teams," and that's fair. It runs your prompts once a day on the AI models you pick and shows your mentions, position, sentiment and share of voice against competitors.
This work is often called AEO (answer engine optimization) or GEO, a term from a 2023 research paper on generative engine optimization. It matters because, in Pew Research Center's study of real Google searches, people clicked a regular result in 8% of visits with an AI summary, versus 15% without one.
What Peec does well, per its pricing page and docs:
- Source analytics: which domains and pages AI used or cited, each labeled as competitor, editorial, reference or UGC (user-generated content).
- Gap analysis and actions: sources that name competitors but not you, ranked recommended actions, and a Peec agent that generates actions with built-in or custom skills.
- Brand perception: attribute scoring, recurring objections AI raises, and fact checks against statements you set.
- Extras on every plan: an ads library of sponsored AI answers, product-level AI Shopping tracking, a crawlability audit across 40+ AI bots, and crawl data from Cloudflare, Vercel, AWS and other log sources.
- Team access: unlimited users, MCP access (so assistants like Claude can read your data) and CSV exports on every plan.
It fits SEO and content teams that want clear reporting and already have people to act on it. See our Lantern vs Peec AI comparison for how it differs from an agent-led setup.
How much does Peec AI cost?
Peec AI starts at $95 a month for 50 prompts on three models. Pro is $245, Advanced $495, and Enterprise is custom and billed annually.
Self-serve plans pick three of ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Each extra model is an add-on from $30 a month on Starter, $70 on Pro and $140 on Advanced (annual prices), and Perplexity is on that list. Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Mistral appear only on Enterprise.
Annual billing saves 15%, and there's a free trial. Agencies get separate credit-based plans from $245 a month.
Why do teams look for Peec AI alternatives?
Mostly engine limits and cost per prompt. Each reason comes from how Peec packages its plans.
- Three models per plan. Want ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity? The fourth is an add-on on every tier.
- Claude is Enterprise-only. If your buyers use Claude, you need a custom contract or another tool.
- Price per prompt. Starter works out to $1.90 a prompt; SE Visible Basic is about $0.50 (our math: $95 / 50 and $99 / 200).
- Small sample on Starter. In our AI Recognition Gap research, growing a tracked set from 10 to 100 questions cut variation in reported brand coverage by about 73%.
- Gated features. The API starts on Pro, Looker Studio on Advanced and SSO on Enterprise.
- A different job. Peec recommends and generates actions, but its pricing page doesn't list writing drafts into your CMS (content management system).
One reason you'll still read is out of date: "Peec only tracks." Every plan now includes gap analysis, recommended actions and an agent.
Peec AI alternatives compared
Here's Peec AI next to nine alternatives, as listed in October 2026.
The 9 best Peec AI alternatives, reviewed
Grouped by use case: trackers (1 to 3), SEO suite add-ons (4 and 5), enterprise depth (6 and 7) and agents (8 and 9).
1. Otterly.AI
Otterly.AI is a low-cost AI search monitor with built-in GEO audits.
- Best for: small teams testing AI tracking cheaply.
- Engines: ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot; AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are add-ons ($9, $9 and $29 a month on Lite).

- Starting price: Lite $29 a month (15 prompts), Standard $189 (100); free trial.
- Compared with Peec AI: Perplexity is included, and Claude costs $29 instead of an Enterprise contract.
- Watch-outs: 15 prompts is a spot check, Lite gets three recommendations a week, and API and MCP start on Standard.
2. SE Visible
SE Visible is SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility tool. It collects answers through a real browser, not an API, every day.
- Best for: teams and agencies reporting on many prompts.
- Engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews; SE Ranking says Claude "will be added soon."
- Key features: mentions, sentiment, competitors, cited domains and URLs, five languages, an API.
- Starting price: Basic $99 a month, or $79 billed annually (200 prompts, 3 projects); 10-day free trial.
- Compared with Peec AI: four times the prompts at entry, with all four engines included.
- Watch-outs: no Perplexity or Copilot, and fewer action features.
3. Rankscale
Rankscale is a credit-based tracker covering 17+ engines on every plan, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, Copilot, DeepSeek and Grok. See our Rankscale comparison.
- Best for: teams that need many engines without paying per engine.
- Engines: 17+ on all plans, with "no per-engine upsell tiers."
- Key features: brand dashboards, page audits, URL visibility checks, MCP, credit rollover.
- Starting price: Pro $99 a month (1,200 credits, up to 4,800 AI answers); free Pro trial. The REST API starts on Pro+ at $229.
- Compared with Peec AI: far more engines, including Claude, for about the same entry price.
- Watch-outs: credits are shared. At a typical 0.25 credits per engine per prompt, that's 40 prompts on 4 engines daily, or about 9 on all 17 (our math).
4. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Semrush's toolkit adds AI visibility, prompt research and prompt tracking to the Semrush suite.
- Best for: teams that already run SEO in Semrush.
- Engines: Prompt Tracking covers ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode and Gemini. AI Overviews appear in its Visibility Overview and Position Tracking, not in Prompt Tracking.
- Key features: AI visibility score, prompt research with topic volume, competitor research, sentiment reports with recommendations.
- Starting price: $99 a month with 25 prompts; no free trial. Semrush One bundles SEO and AI visibility from $199.
- Compared with Peec AI: less source depth, but it sits next to your keyword data.
- Watch-outs: each extra user needs a $99 license, and 50 more prompts cost $60 a month.
5. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Ahrefs Brand Radar pairs an index of more than 500 million search-backed prompts with Custom Prompts you write.
- Best for: benchmarking a category before you build a prompt list.
- Engines: AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot; Custom Prompts add Claude.
- Key features: mentions, citations, AI share of voice, fan-out query discovery, a free preview.
- Starting price: Custom Prompts from $50 a month (2,500 checks); the index from $199.
- Compared with Peec AI: both tie prompts to demand, but Ahrefs draws on its keyword database.
- Watch-outs: each prompt uses one check per platform, location and update, and Claude uses 8.
6. Profound
Profound tracks AI answers, estimates prompt demand, measures AI crawler traffic and runs an AI Marketer that drafts work for approval.
- Best for: large brands that want many engines and enterprise security in one contract.
- Engines: ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews on the trial; up to 9 on Enterprise, adding Perplexity, AI Mode, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude and Exa Search.
- Key features: Answer Engine Insights, Prompt Volumes, log-based Agent Analytics, AI Marketer and Agents, SSO and SOC 2.
- Starting price: free 7-day trial (50 preset prompts); Enterprise is custom. Agencies pay $399 a month per client workspace.
- Compared with Peec AI: more engines and depth, but no published paid price for brands.
- Watch-outs: the trial has no exports or history. Our Profound vs Writesonic comparison and Profound alternatives roundup go deeper.
7. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ is a credit-based GEO platform where one credit equals one AI response.
- Best for: teams that need Claude, Grok or DeepSeek without an enterprise contract.
- Engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot free; 11 on Starter, adding AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral.
- Key features: source and competitor analysis, on-page and off-page actions, a content optimization agent, CSV export.
- Starting price: Essential free (300 credits). Starter $295 a month (3,600 credits), 17% off annually.
- Compared with Peec AI: Starter covers 11 models; Peec needs Enterprise for most of them.
- Watch-outs: 3,600 credits is about 10 prompts a day on all 11 models (our math: 10 x 11 x 30 = 3,300). API access costs extra.
8. Lantern
Lantern measures how your brand appears in AI answers and puts specialist agents to work on the gaps. Your team approves publishing, outreach and spend.
- Best for: marketing and content teams that want gaps turned into briefs, drafts, refreshes and outreach.
- Engines: ChatGPT on Free; ChatGPT, Claude, Google and Gemini on Pro.
- Key features: mentions, citations, sentiment and share of voice; Search Console and Google Analytics data; AI Search, SEO, Content, Advertising and PR agents grounded in your Brand Knowledge Base; handoff to WordPress, HubSpot, Sanity and Contentful.
- Starting price: Free (10 Agent Runs a month). Pro $89 a month (3 brands, 3 seats, 100 Agent Runs). Agency $399 a month.
- Compared with Peec AI: Peec goes deeper on analytics such as shopping and crawl data. Lantern includes Claude at $89 and focuses on the follow-up work. See our Peec AI alternative overview.
- Watch-outs: plans are sized by Agent Runs, not prompts, so ask how many prompts you get. Copilot isn't on the Pro list, and SSO is Enterprise-only.
9. Goodie
Goodie sells "full-stack AEO": tracking plus agents that create content, fix technical issues and run outreach.
- Best for: teams that want agents and strategist support in one subscription.
- Engines: ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, AI Mode and Copilot on Core; Gemini from Pro; up to 14, including Claude, on Enterprise.

- Compared with Peec AI: more hands-on help, with Perplexity on the entry plan.
- Watch-outs: Core lacks Gemini and Claude, 50 optimizations a month caps output, and API access is listed on Enterprise.
Which Peec AI alternative fits you?

How to switch from Peec AI without losing your baseline
Export first, then run both tools on the same prompts for 2 to 4 weeks. Cancel only when the new tool's trends line up.
- Export your data. Pull prompts, tags, competitors and per-model results as CSV (every plan) or via the API (Pro and up).
- Save a per-model baseline. Record visibility, position, sentiment and citation share for the last 30 to 90 days.
- Map engine coverage. Flag any model, such as Naver AI, the new tool doesn't track.
- Rebuild the prompt set as it is. Same wording, competitors, country and language.
- Run both for 2 to 4 weeks. Tools sample answers differently, so compare trends model by model, not a blended score.
- Add free first-party data. Search Console's Generative AI performance report, covered in Google's guide to optimizing for generative AI features, and Bing Webmaster Tools' AI Performance report for Copilot give you a baseline no vendor controls. Google says "no third-party tool has access to our internal ranking or AI systems," so treat every tool's numbers as a sample.
- Check crawler access. OpenAI says sites that block OAI-SearchBot won't be shown in ChatGPT search answers, so confirm your robots.txt allows the crawlers you care about.
- Move recurring work, then cancel at renewal. Rebuild reports and agent skills before the old plan ends.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Peec AI cost?
As of 27 October 2026, Peec AI's brand plans are Starter at $95 a month (50 prompts), Pro at $245 (150) and Advanced at $495 (350), each with three models. Enterprise is custom and billed annually. Annual billing saves 15%, and older pages may still show euro prices such as €89.
Is Peec AI worth it?
Yes, if three models cover your buyers and you'll use its source and brand-perception analysis. If you need Claude or Perplexity, each extra model adds cost.
Is there a free Peec AI alternative?
For a first look, yes. AthenaHQ's Essential plan and Lantern's Free plan cost $0, and Ahrefs offers a free visibility preview. Ongoing multi-engine tracking needs a paid plan, plus the free AI reports in Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
Who are Peec AI's main competitors?
The closest self-serve rivals are Otterly.AI, SE Visible and Rankscale. Semrush and Ahrefs compete through SEO suite add-ons, Profound and AthenaHQ offer more engines, and Lantern and Goodie add agents that do the follow-up work.
Does Peec AI track Claude and Perplexity?
Not by default. Perplexity is a paid add-on model, and Claude is listed only on Enterprise. Self-serve plans choose three of ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI.
Can I export my data from Peec AI?
Yes. Peec lists CSV exports and MCP access on every plan, the API from Pro, and a Looker Studio connector from Advanced. Export before you cancel so you keep your history.
